Life Members, 10-Year Certificate recipients honoured

The Swan Districts Football Club is delighted to have recently inducted three outstanding servants as Life Members and awarded a 10-Year Certificate to another.

For those who bleed black-and-white, there are few higher honours than being made a Life Member of the Swan Districts Football Club, which is exactly the honour now bestowed up Peter Hodyl, Des Hardiman and Graeme Higgins.

WAFLW 2022 Round 7 Wrap-Up

Round 7 saw all three of our women’s teams playing away from home. The Swan Districts League and Rogers Cup sides travelled to Fremantle for Saturday evening games, while the Reserves headed to Leederville for a morning match.

With all three sides looking to move up the ladder, the squads went into each game confident they knew what was needed to get the win.

WAFLW women looking to go one step better in 2022

‘So close but so far’ has haunted the Swan Districts women’s League side over the past four seasons, having been knocked out of the first week of Finals and losing two Grand Finals twice each since their last grand final win in 2017.

Season 2022 brings opportunity and excitement to Swan Districts

With cases from the Covid pandemic expected to peak throughout the community in late March, only the first nine rounds have currently been fixtured for the 2022 WAFL Premiership Season, seeing Swan Districts play each team once. A 20-game season, plus a four-week finals series, is expected to be played out, with the remaining fixtures likely to be released in round seven.

Defenders delight as Swans WAFL captaincy is named

A new era has come upon Swan Districts, with a host of new faces set to lead the league side into the 2022 WAFL Premiership Season.

With Tony Notte looking to pass on the responsibility for the remainder of his time at the club, and the retirement of Matt Riggio, defenders Brandon Erceg and Chris Jones have been selected to co-captain the Black Ducks for the upcoming season.

Dual Swan Medallist, Corey Gault, has announced his retirement from the game, due to concussion issues.

Joining Swan Districts as a Colt in 2009, Gault quickly made an impact at the club, pushing up to play games in the Reserves, along with one League match.
