GET ON BOARD THE SWAN DISTRICTS FOOTBALL CLUB
Established in 1934, the club has won eight WAFL Premierships, including a pair of hat-tricks in 1961, 1962 & 1963 and then again in 1982, 1983 & 1984. Two more flags were won in 1990 and 2010, along with the distinction of having nine individual Sandover Medallists. Legendary rover Bill Walker tops the list having won the medal on four occasions, a feat not matched by any other player in the history of the competition. In 2017, the club’s female footballers were the first ever to win the Grand Final in all three grades.
Swan Districts is also more than just a football club. The club’s new purpose is to build community and develop people. Our vision is to be a well-connected and community-engaged football club which improves social outcomes and the sense of wellbeing within the wider Swans community. Our values are to act with integrity, everyone matters, raise the bar (to be the best person you can), and we fly together (an old Swans catch cry representing loyalty to family, friends and club).
Our purpose, vision and values help guide our strategic planning and allocation of resources. It’s essential we continue to deliver programs that improve the lives of people in our club and those in the broader Swans community. Your support plays a very important part in helping us achieve this.
It has an important role to create programs with community partners to improve social outcomes and sense of well-being in the communities it belongs. VSwans, the community development arm of the business, has long lasting partnerships and programs in the Pilbara that has achieved large increases in school attendances and behaviour by disadvantaged youth. The club is now establishing a similar community outreach program in its metropolitan zone.
Whether a new sponsor or an old faithful, once you attend a game and hear for the first time the passion from our supporters, it becomes very addictive. The fans and sponsors at Swans are a crucial part of the club’s success. The club will continue to enhance the match day experience by creating even more fun in our popular Swans Play Zone for kids and continue with our give-aways at home games. Our match day luncheons are regarded the best in the WA Football League and are a great way for you to entertain your valuable clients. We provide networking opportunities that can further grow your database of clients.
Sponsors are welcome to join members and staff and come down to Steel Blue Oval and see our boys and girls teams train. Sponsors are also welcome on Thursday nights, during the season from 5pm to enjoy a drink and food upstairs in the members bar and be in the running to win cash jackpots in Chase the Ace along with a free weekly Members cash draw starting at $1,000 along with other raffles through the evening. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the players after training upstairs and hear from the coach his team selection for the following game.
