Fellow Members and Supporters, I wish to provide this mid-season update to reinforce to all our progress to becoming the dominant force in the WAFL in the not too distant future. This has always been the ‘long game’ and we have been extremely diligent to ensure that we do not make the same mistakes of the past by searching for a short term fix.

Swans no match in Mandurah for Thunder
IT was an afternoon to forget for Swan Districts in Mandurah on Saturday with the black-and-whites managing just the one goal in the first half before going on to lose to Peel Thunder by 79 points.
It was the first time Swans took on the Thunder for the 2019 WAFL season and while they did head to Mandurah's David Grays Arena with high hopes of a bounce back victory, it wasn’t to be.
Swan Districts came into the game with tough losses to Perth, Claremont and West Perth, and then Saturday turned into the most disappointing showing so far of 2019 with Peel running out 19.11 (125) to 7.4 (46) victors. Read More [+]

Swans have now lost their past three matches since beating the West Coast Eagles to slip to the bottom of the ladder, but a win on Saturday against Peel at Mandurah's David Grays Arena and the season is right back alive for the black-and-whites given the evenness of the competition.
The game is back in the traditional 2.15pm time slot on Saturday with the colts beginning the day in Mandurah at 9am before the reserves match begins at 11.30am.
Round 8 Preview v East Fremantle
SWAN Districts has risen to second position on the WAFLW ladder following last week's win over Claremont and now revenge is on the mind of the black-and-whites against East Fremantle heading back to East Fremantle Oval on Sunday afternoon.
Swans now sit in second spot on the WAFLW with a 3-3 record but last time they played the Sharks earlier this season, they went scoreless in the entire second half and lost by 10 goals.
So revenge is on the minds of those Swan Districts players ahead of Sunday's clash which provides a chance to further consolidate second spot on the WAFLW ladder.
Swans climb to second in WAFLW with Tigers win
SWAN Districts produced an impressive WAFL Women's performance on Sunday afternoon at Claremont Oval to beat Claremont by 14 points and improve to second position on the ladder.
It was always going to be a crucial game for both teams in the inaugural season of the WAFLW competition and it was Swan Districts that got the best of Claremont for the first time already in 2019.

Swans go down on home soil to Falcons
SWAN Districts couldn’t turn around their recent struggles at Steel Blue Oval on Saturday despite some impressive performances by emerging players with West Perth managing to go away with a 57-point victory.
Swans were coming in and looking to replicate their best performance of the season which came back in Round 4 on the road to West Perth and ended with a 44-point victory.
But since then, Swan Districts had only won once and West Perth lost just the one game, and that trend continued on Saturday with the Falcons leaving Bassendean with the 16.13 (109) to 8.4 (52) victory.

In Their Words – Alex Howard Round 11
ONE thing we have talked about as a group is that even though things are tough at the moment, we feel if we can get over the line in one game it will spark something for us. Claremont were in a similar position last season before they went on a run, winning six in-a-row and playing finals.
We want to emulate that and finish our season off in a similar way. Coming off a game like we just played and having a short break is good. We can just get out there again, put last week behind us and focus on putting everything into beating West Perth.
Personally even though we haven’t won the games we would have liked and my focus is on the team, I'm enjoying the season I'm having. Tony Notte and I have always had a good bond and we enjoy playing alongside each other down back so that's always fun. We have been able to blood the young boys alongside us, a prime example was the other week when we got Nathan Ireland in and he was outstanding against Perth. We also have other young guys like Denzel More and Tristen Raynor taking on large roles which is going to fast track their growth. Denzel has been great, we are giving him some of the best forwards every week and he's getting the job done. This allows me and Tony to do what we do and help each other out. It makes it a lot easier for our whole mini team in the back-line if we know we can rely on these young guys to do their job. Hopefully we will be able to keep giving them opportunities to grow.
Round 7 Preview v Claremont
SWAN Districts hits the road in Round 7 of the Optus WAFLW Premiership Season to take on Claremont at Claremont Oval and looking to knock off the Tigers for the second time already in 2019.
Having already played four of the first give games of the season on home turf at Steel Blue Oval so far in the WAFLW, Swan Districts now has to play away from Bassendean this Sunday afternoon up against Claremont at Claremont Oval.
The game will begin on Sunday at 2pm and will be available to be watched via the live stream on the WAFL website and Facebook page for those unable to be in attendance to cheer on the black-and-whites.
Round 11 Preview v West Perth
SWAN Districts is back home on Saturday afternoon to take on its fiercest of recent rivals, West Perth, with the black-and-whites desperate to put a four-quarter performance together to return to the winner's list.
Swans come into the clash with the Falcons having just six days earlier hosted Claremont also at Steel Blue Oval and putting in another strong showing for most of the afternoon.
Swan Districts led Claremont for the first half and then even most of the first three quarters before again being frustratingly overrun in the last term to lose to the Tigers by 34 points.
