Swans response to COVID 19 Lockdown

Effective from 6pm last night, Sunday, 31 January 2021 until 6pm Friday, 5 February, the Perth metropolitan area and the Peel and South West regions will enter a 5-day lockdown, based on health advice. These measures are being implemented due to a fast evolving situation in Western Australia with the positive COVID-19 case detected in a hotel quarantine worker.

Swans at Foodbank

Swans volunteers were at Foodbank WA again this week for the final time in 2020, and were involved in packing hampers and what would seem like a lifetime supply of meat pies. Food that is close to its best before date, or for whatever reason is not suitable for sale, is donated to Foodbank by the major supermarkets, food manufacturers and producers.

NAIDOC 2020

Swans Community team were very active during this year’s rescheduled NAIDOC celebrations.

Painting Boomerangs (Kylies) with dreamtime story themes, teaching Marn Grook (meaning: Game Ball) and coaching, playing and umpiring a NAIDOC football match were a part of our engagement tasks.

The painting of the ‘Kylies’ was a popular activity amongst the students and some fantastic designs have been produced.
