New Club General Manager People and Community

The Swan Districts Football Club recently appointed Matt Hewitson as General Manager People and Community.

Matt was selected from over 30 strong applicants. He subsequently resigned as the Director of Community and Strategic Projects on the club’s Board prior to commence the position mid January.

Critically, Matt brings a deep understanding of the club’s community focussed business model. As the Director of Community since 2018, he helped transition the club from a traditional football club to a community enabler. In doing this he helped shape the club’s purpose to build community and develop people and its vision to be a well-connected and community-engaged football club which improves peoples lives.

The role has expanded slightly from the past General Manager Community to include helping the club drive its people and culture programs, and creating new commercial partnerships aligned with the club’s fundamental community engagement strategy.
