Swan Districts Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a Life Member and premiership player, Lindsay Johnston, aged 89.
While Lindsay only played 27 games at Swans from 1959-1961, most notably in the 1961 Premiership team. Lindsay was awarded Life Membership in 1985, for his dedicated involvement as a player representative, Umpire Advisor, director and player.
Lindsay dedicated much of his time after his run at Swans as a WANFL Umpire, umpiring and officiating in the 1971 WAFL Grand Final.
In 2021, Lindsay was awarded Life Membership of the Swan Districts Past Players and Officials Association.
Remembered as a true Swans man with plenty of stories to tell, Lindsay will be sorely missed by friends, family, former teammates and the greater Swans community.
Our deepest condolences are with all who knew him. Rest in peace Lindsay.
