Round 12 Women’s Preview v South Fremantle
Swan Districts head to the port city on Sunday in Round 12 of the WAFL Women’s season looking to maintain their hold on top position when they take on South Fremantle.
Swans remain in top spot of the WAFL Women’s competition ahead of their match up with the Bulldogs at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Sunday with the game to get underway at 12:10pm.
Swan Districts remain in first place with a 9-1 record this season to still be a game and percentage clear of the second placed Claremont while South Fremantle are now in fourth position with five wins, four defeats and a draw so far in 2026.
The Swans are fresh off beating East Perth by 16 points last Saturday at Steel Blue Oval to continue their standout season while the Bulldogs also returned to the winner’s list when they beat West Perth on the siren by three points also on their home deck at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
The two teams did already play one another earlier this season back on Good Friday at Steel Blue Oval and on that occasion it was Swan Districts beating South Fremantle 10.5 (65) to 2.5 (17) as part of their undefeated start to 2026.
On that day, Taylah Edwards and Ash Sharp both kicked three goals in the win for Swans while Summer Yarran added two and Jaime Henry racked up 38 possessions, Jess Cox 27, Naomi Baker 22, Tamzyn Beros 19, Kayley King 17 and Courtney Ugle 17.
The day’s action on Sunday gets underway at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the Rogers Cup match up between South Fremantle and Swan Districts starting at 10:05am.
Swan Districts continued their winning ways with the 16-point win over East Perth at Steel Blue Oval last Saturday with South Fremantle coming off a one-point loss to West Perth also at home.
That means that coming into Sunday’s match up and the Bulldogs need a win to stay in the finals race currently sitting in seventh place at 3-7 as they take on a Swans team in second position with an 8-2 record.
The two teams already met earlier this season back in Round 2 at Steel Blue Oval and on that occasion it was a 10.7 (67) to 4.5 (29) victory on a Thursday night for the Swans against the Bulldogs.
Back in that win for the black-and-whites in the Rogers Cup, Madi Fisher and Rheanae Beagley kicked two goals each with one apiece to Lillyanah Baker, Lily Williamson, Remy Davis, Adi Griffith, Zoe Tickner and Sienna Gerardi.
