Spearhead Tyler Keitel Joins Swans

Swan Districts Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of West Perth spearhead Tyler Keitel, one of the most accomplished and prolific goalkickers in modern WAFL history, ahead of the 2027 season.

The 30-year-old key forward arrives at Steel Blue Oval following an outstanding career with West Perth, highlighted by six Bernie Naylor Medals, two Breckler Medals, eight Ray Scott Medals, the 2022 WAFL Premiership, three WA State representative appearances and West Perth Football Club Life Membership.

Keitel has established himself as one of the competition’s most dominant forwards over the past decade, combining exceptional consistency, leadership and an ability to influence games at the highest level.

Swan Districts CEO Jarrad Wright said Keitel’s arrival was a significant addition to the Club’s football program and an exciting statement of intent ahead of the 2027 season.

“Tyler is one of the most accomplished players in the WAFL, and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to Swan Districts. His record speaks for itself. He’s a proven match-winner, a premiership player and someone who will bring enormous experience, leadership and firepower to our forward line. Importantly, Tyler’s decision to join Swan Districts is a real statement of belief in where our football program is heading and what we’re building at the Club. We’re thrilled to welcome Tyler, his wife and their children into the Swans family and we can’t wait to see him pull on the black and white in 2027 and beyond.”

Originally from Noranda Junior Football Club, Keitel progressed through East Perth’s Colts program and represented Western Australia at under-18 level before joining West Perth ahead of the 2015 WAFL season.

Initially playing across both ends of the ground, Keitel established himself as a regular senior player in 2016, earning selection in the WAFL Team of the Year as a key defender before developing into one of the competition’s most dangerous forwards.

Standing at 196cm, Keitel has built a reputation for his contested marking, physical presence and remarkable consistency in front of goal.

He claimed West Perth’s fairest and best award in 2019 and 2025 and played an important role in the Falcons’ 2022 WAFL Premiership.

His goalkicking record has been exceptional, claiming four consecutive Bernie Naylor Medals from 2023 to 2026, kicking 57 goals in 2023, 56 in 2024, 52 in 2025 and 51 in 2026.

Beyond his individual achievements, Keitel brings valuable leadership and experience to a developing Swan Districts playing group, with his signing reinforcing the Club’s ambition to build a competitive and successful football program.

Swan Districts Football Club warmly welcomes Tyler and his family to the Black and White and looks forward to seeing him represent the Swans in 2027 and beyond.
