Swans Roebourne: Wrapping Up Youth Week 2025
The final events of Youth Week in the Pilbara two different events out in the community with our Swans Roebourne team.
Wednesday and Thursday saw the pace change and the decibels rise.
A collaboration between Sagen and DJ Manymore combined an urban art workshop alongside a how to DJ session inside the youth centre. The kids were spoilt for choice in this 2 day workshop.
We also had our own Zane Trew and Tyla Fitzgerald onsite for the Wednesday session learning about Roebourne and engaging with our young people.
The young people had a great time showing off to our players and developing skills in art and music and performing, this culminated in a open lunch for the community to attend on Thursday to see what the young people had been learning. The Youth Week attendees helped complete multiple pieces of art and a large mural on the external wall of the Youth Centre, they also had their head phones on and up, spinning the tracks and learning about linking songs and building playlists.
It was a great couple of days for our community.
To close out our holiday program we slowed the pace right down and headed out to the beach for a reset and some rest.
With the tides not playing along we setup some “relaxation pools” in the foreshore park, some music and BBQ, this event open to the Eastern Corridor of WA saw multiple youth centres attend, with some local kids from smaller communities who don’t have a youth centre, which was great to see.
It was a relaxing afternoon to round out the holidays, getting the young people outside under the trees with a footy in their hands.
Our gratitude goes out to all our sponsors, community members, volunteers and supporters for making Youth Week in the Pilbara a success for many.
