The Swan Districts Football Club - successful V Swans Program is delighted to announced it has been granted significant funding from BHP to pilot a brand new program which will target female students at Hedland Senior High School. The V Swans REACH Program will support and engage female students, before, during and after school and help guide students to positively connect to the Hedland community.
Swans player Brenton Hilton and now, AFL Western Bulldogs player, Riley Garcia visited Wundowie Primary School for the opening of their newly resurfaced basketball courts.
The Swan Districts Community team have been at Swan View Senior High School for four weeks.
The drive from Jigalong to Karijini is a hot and dusty one stalled by road trains, cattle and the odd toilet stop.
Since 1981, the Swan Districts Football Club has produced over sixty players who have gone on to be drafted into the VFL/AFL.
In 2019, the Swans have three players who are in contention in this year’s AFL Draft.

Our Swan Districts Football Club - V Swans staff, were recognised for their continuous hard work across the Pilbara region and took out two awards at the second Pilbara Community Service Excellence Awards, held by not-for-profit group Pilbara For Purpose in Port Hedland.
2019 was a tough year. We ended the season with only four wins, and a heap of close losses early on in the year hurt our season. In my opinion, those close losses took their toll on the paying group through the middle part of the year mentally.
Temperatures nearing 40 degrees… over 1200km from Perth… no grass… no better place for a game of football.
Day one of the V Swans S2S Female Cultural and Leadership Tour was all about travel. Girls from our ‘Swans In the Community’ programs, SDFC WAFLW teams and V Swans Pilbara Hubs (Onslow, Roebourne, Port Hedland and Newman) met up in Newman to begin a unique football, leadership and cultural experience.

The 2019 Board of Management election results have been finalised and Andy Holmes has been re-elected for a three year term.
A core objective in the club’s new Football Strategic Plan 2020 – 2024 is to create a comprehensive, high performing strength and conditioning program including the senior men, women and talent programs.
