Swans fall short of Sharks in WAFLW Grand Final
SWAN Districts put together a stunning run of form to book a spot in the first ever WAFLW Grand Final on Saturday but in the end it was East Fremantle who proved too strong to claim the inaugural premiership.
Swan Districts entered Saturday's Grand Final in some tremendous form having qualified courtesy of a five-game winning streak which culminated in the impressive victory over minor premiers Subiaco in the preliminary Final.
That five-game winning run had included a win over East Fremantle as well for Swan Districts with both teams entering the Grand Final on the back of having beaten Subiaco to do so.
WAFLW Grand Final Preview

The inaugural Optus WAFLW Premiership Season has proved quite the success with the launch of the new five-team competition in 2019 to continue to build on the momentum created for female football by AFLW.
It was Claremont, East Fremantle, Peel Thunder Subiaco and Swan Districts chosen as the five teams to take part in the first WAFLW season and there was precious little between the top four teams with only Peel missing out on a finals appearance.
Antonio looks for Swans to continue hot form in Grand Final
SWAN Districts enters Saturday's WAFLW Grand Final on a five-game winning streak and captain Ebony Antonio sees no reason they can't maintain that form and she can't hold up the inaugural premiership cup with coach Kara Donnellan.
Swans are no strangers to making history and back in 2017 they did that by winning the league, reserves and Rogers Cup premierships in the one WA Women's Football League season.
Now after not making finals in the last WAWFL season, Swans are back to being a force again in 2019 and it's partners leading the way as captain and coach in the form of Fremantle Dockers AFLW pair Ebony Antonio and Kara Donnellan.
Swans firing into WAFLW Grand Final

On the back of last Saturday's thumping preliminary final win to the tune of 45 points against minor premiers Subiaco, Swans now enter Saturday's Grand Final against East Fremantle in red hot form.
The inaugural Grand Final of the WAFLW competition takes place at Lathlain's Mineral Resources Park from 2.35pm and Donnellan knows Swans have every right to be going into the clash full of confidence.
