It was a weekend of mixed emotions for our Swan Districts teams. We had:
There arguably could not be a bigger game to kick off the WAFLW finals series than an elimination game between last season’s grand final sides, Swan Districts and East Fremantle.
Having played each other just last week, they will face off again this Sunday with everything to play for. For the loser, it’s game over, while the winner moves on to play the loser of Subiaco and Peel.

With only a couple of games remaining in the 2020 Optus WAFL Premiership regular season, Swans co-captain, Matt Riggio, appears set to hit double century milestones for the next two weeks in a row.
This week at home, ‘Rigs’ as he is more affectionately known, will notch up his 200th WAFL game against Perth, followed by his 200th game for the Swan Districts a week later.
Statistically, the Swan Districts League side can not make finals, but they still have everything to play for this weekend.
Saturday will see co-captain, Matt Riggio, run out for his 200th WAFL game, in front of a home crowd at Steel Blue Oval.
We will also be celebrating NAIDOC round and will be televised on Channel 7.

A tough weekend for Swan Districts fans, players and coaches with the Colts the only team able to register a win on the board.
It wasn’t all bad news though, with the women’s League side securing a spot in the 2020 finals series, along with a couple of new goal scorers kicking their first goals in the top sides.
