Swans All Abilities player selected for Australian All Abilities Championship

Jack Neuman is one of the many favourite faces in the Swan Districts Football Club All Abilities team, and while he’s not donning the Black and White he’s on the course preparing for the Australian All Abilities Championship.

“I’ve been playing golf for about 11 years. Believe it or not, it was Wii Sports that first got me interested in golf! From there, Mum saw a promotion for an all-abilities golf program at The Vines Golf Club and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to give it a go. I haven’t looked back since. I’ve always wanted to be a sportsperson, so golf turned out to be the perfect fit.” says Jack.

While it may have been the beloved Wii Sports that got Jack into golf, he couldn’t be more grateful for the guidance of the highly decorated Head of Teaching at the MTI Golf Academy, Mark Tibbles.

“He’s such a brilliant, kind man who when I first started took me under his wing and taught me all that I know about golf. If it wasn’t for him I don’t know where I would be in my golf journey aswell as the crew down at the vines  for the ongoing support. My mum has also been a huge support in always believing in me and whenever I have struggled with golf, she has always motivated me to keep going.”

“I’m feeling really excited about the national golf tournament in October but definitely nervous aswell. To prepare I’ve been practising some areas of my game including chip shots out of the bunker and my putting accuracy. I’ve also been mentally preparing as it will be my first time hopping on a plane.”

Along with the excitement and the nerves that come along with new experiences and a new challenge, Jack won’t be alone as he’ll have the company of his Swans teammates over in Melbourne.

“On one hand I was over the moon with excitement and on the other hand I didn’t believe it was real! It still hasn’t sunk in yet but I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to represent my state. I’m also really excited to find out that 2 of my footy team mates Elliot and Josh, will be flying over with me to Melbourne to compete in the ten pin bowling at the All Abilities National Championships.”

Jack, Josh and Elliot all jet off to Melbourne to compete in October of this year. Congratulations boys, go well!
