Round 6 Women’s Preview v East Perth
The Swan Districts teams in the WAFL Women’s and Rogers Cup competitions are yet to lose so far in the 2026 season and they will attempt to keep that roll going away to East Perth this Sunday.
It has been an outstanding start to the 2026 season for both Swan Districts teams with both the WAFL Women’s and Rogers Cup teams sitting on top of the respective ladders with 5-0 records.
That goes on the line this Sunday against East Perth at Leederville’s Sullivan Logistics Stadium with the WAFL Women’s clash first up at 2:15pm with the Rogers Cup to then follow at 4:20pm.
Starting with the WAFL Women’s match up and it has been an ominous start to the new season for Swan Districts on the back of last year’s heartbreaking one-point grand final loss to Claremont.
They started 2026 by winning a grand final rematch against Claremont and have now gone on to record wins against South Fremantle, East Fremantle, West Perth and Perth with those victories coming at an average of 26.4 points.
Swans now take on an East Perth team on Sunday who have one win and three losses so far in 2026 with that lone victory coming back in Round 1 against Peel Thunder before defeats to Subiaco, East Fremantle and Claremont by an average of 30 points since.
East Perth first joined the WAFL Women’s competition back in 2023 and over the past three seasons Swan Districts have dominated proceedings between the two teams.
Swans have beaten the Royals all six times the two sides have gone to battle over the past three seasons with the wins coming at an average of 65.3 points and including two victories by 101 points along the way.
Swan Districts will now look to make it six straight wins to start the season overall and seven in-a-row against East Perth so far in the WAFL Women’s competition.
The Rogers Cup contest will then wrap up the day’s action at Sullivan Logistics with the clash between the Swans and Royals getting underway at 4:20pm.
Swan Districts remain undefeated in the Rogers Cup competition in 2026 with five wins to their credit so far to sit clear on top of the ladder coming into Round 6.
It’s the opposite story for East Perth who are yet to taste a win from their four matches this season to sit in bottom place.
While it might be a top against bottom match up, Swan Districts will still have to be on their game to keep their winning run going and to stop East Perth getting on the board for 2026 in the Rogers Cup.
Swan Districts made it five straight wins to start the season last Friday night beating Perth 8.5 (53) to 3.9 (27) at Lathlain’s Mineral Resources Park.
In that win, Keira Fawcett kicked three goals and Penelope Punaivaha, Ella Sandrini, Rheanae Beagley and Jaya Abbott were among the standout performers.
Now the Swans get the chance to end the weekend with a sixth straight win to open the Rogers Cup season in the battle against the Royals at Leederville.
