Round 11 Men’s Preview v Subiaco

Swan Districts have won five of the last six games in the WAFL Men’s competition against Subiaco and will look to record a fourth win of the 2026 season on the road to the Lions this Saturday.

After the bye last weekend, the season resumes for Swan Districts this Saturday when they take on Subiaco at Leederville’s Sullivan Logistics Stadium with the League contest getting underway at 2:30pm.

Swan Districts had the bye last week in the WAFL Men’s competition and prior to that suffered a narrow loss to the West Coast Eagles by seven points at Steel Blue Oval.

Subiaco did play last weekend, though, and had a strong win at home to East Fremantle by 25 points ahead of now hosting the black-and-whites this Saturday.

Swan Districts come into the match up sitting in nine position on the WAFL Men’s ladder with a 3-7 record while Subiaco are fifth at 5-5.

Prior to Subiaco’s win over Swan Districts back in Round 7 of this season at Steel Blue Oval, Swans had enjoyed life in recent times against the Lions having won the previous five meetings between the two sides.

That included winning both encounters in each of the 2024 and 2025 seasons along with winning back in Round 14, 2023.

In that game earlier this season, even though Subiaco ended up winning by 40 points, Swans were only four points down by half-time after leading by a point at quarter-time with Leo Steed, Leigh Kohlmann and Clint Hinchliffe kicking two goals each.

Captain Jesse Turner amassed 31 possessions for Swans that day, Zane Trew 30, Jake Pasini 23, Josh Cipro 23, Chase Loftus 20 and Jackson McLachlan 19.

The day’s action at Sullivan Logistics Stadium gets underway on Saturday with the Colts contest beginning between Swan Districts and Subiaco at 9:15am.

It’s the first time that Swan Districts have played in the Colts since Round 9 where back on Friday June 5 they lost a tight one in Mandurah by 14 points.

They had won the previous three matches before that and now after a significant break with the League team playing against the West Coast Eagles and then the whole club having the Round 10 bye, the Colts are back in action on Saturday morning against the Lions.

Swan Districts are currently sitting in sixth position in the Colts coming into Round 11 with a 3-5 record and they take on a Subiaco team just percentage behind them at 3-6.

It is already the second time the two teams have played this season as well and in the first meeting at Steel Blue Oval back in Round 7, it was Swan Districts prevailing 17.9 (111) to 5.6 (36).

On that day, Lebron Yarran kicked four goals for the Swans and Cooper Dudfield three with Jai Debono, Kalum Smith and Jake Mills adding two each while Debono also had 26 possessions, Mills 25, Noah Harfouche 22, Alon Berman 19 and Smith 19.

That leads into the Reserves contest that will get underway at 11:45am also at Leederville with Swan Districts resuming their undefeated season having won the opening eight matches in impressive fashion.

Prior to having to sit out the last two weekends, Swans did beat Peel Thunder by 30 points in Mandurah to maintain their undefeated record in 2026 as they now take on a Lions team also who haven’t played since beating Perth back Saturday June 6.

Now coming into Saturday’s clash and the Swans are sitting two games and percentage clear in top spot in the Reserves with the 8-0 record while Subiaco are in eighth position with a 2-7 record.

The two teams already locked horns this season back in Round 7 at Steel Blue Oval where Swan Districts beat Subiaco by 46 points.

As part of that win, Harley Cummings, Jaxon Pitts and Lucas Andrews all kicked two goals each for the Swans with Chayse Martinson racking up 33 possessions, Brad Lynch 28, Jaz Rigoni 25, Otis Harvey 24, Ben Hewett 23, Ethyn Kane 22 and Dylan Matson 22.
