Pruey’s Match Review: Round 3

Coach Andrew Pruyn reflects on Round 3.

“While the scoreboard shows an 11-point loss to South Fremantle, I walk away from today’s game with a lot of encouragement about where we’re heading as a group. Our pressure around the ball was at the level we require, and it was pleasing to see the players respond to the challenge against a side in strong form.

“We generated more than enough opportunities to win the game but unfortunately didn’t take our chances in front of goal. That’s an area we’ll continue to work on, but the fact we created those looks is a positive sign for us moving forward.

“There were some outstanding individual efforts today. Evan Smith’s development was huge—he’s really stepping up and showing what he’s capable of at this level. Jye Chalcraft continues to impress with his consistency and work rate in the midfield, and it was fantastic to welcome back Aidan Clarke to the side after his absence.

“Looking ahead, we’re excited to regain Jake Pasini and Zane Trew in the coming weeks. Their return will be significant for our structure and depth, and I’m confident they’ll make a big impact as we continue to build momentum.

“We’ll review the match, learn from it, and focus on sharpening our execution. The signs are there—we just need to keep working hard and the results will come.
