McNair reaches 50 games in the Black and White

This weekend marks a significant milestone for Swan Districts as All Abilities player Mark McNair runs out for his 50th game in the semi final against High Wycombe.

Mark’s connection to Swan Districts is deeply rooted in family history and lifelong passion. A proud third‑generation supporter.

“I feel privileged to continue our family tradition and knowing my father’s spirit is there to watch and support me.”

His late father was a devoted Swans supporter and member, and his great‑uncle Richard Dreger wore number 14 in the 1962 colts side.

Growing up, Mark idolised Phil Narkle in the number 36, a number he now proudly wears for the All Abilities team.

“I’m honoured to also wear his number while playing football for the Swans Districts All Abilities team,” he says.

Reaching 50 games has been a journey of resilience and commitment.

“It’s been a long time coming, lots of struggle and dedication to reach this milestone.”

Along the way, football has strengthened his confidence, leadership, and connection to his teammates.

“It’s helped me connect with a lot of my teammates and I’ve made a lot of friendships along the journey.”

Mark has embraced responsibility both on and off the field, supporting coaches at training, helping teammates with positioning, and assisting with equipment on game days.

“I have learnt to accept with more confidence the responsibilities I have been given and show more leadership amongst my teammates,” he explains. “I’ve gotten better at getting all my teammates involved in the game as well.”

His pride in wearing the black and white remains as strong as ever: “I still have that excitement when I run out onto Steel Blue Oval wearing the Swans jersey with pride where my heroes played.”

As he looks ahead, Mark is already setting his sights on the next milestone.

“I’m looking forward to reaching my 100th game, and I’m thankful for my family and friends for supporting me.”
