Swans announce new Colts Head Coach

Swan Districts Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Faulkner as the new Colts Head Coach, following a robust recruitment process led by Club officials and the WAFC.

Scott joins the Club on a contract through to the end of the 2026 season, bringing a wealth of experience across coaching and talent development within Western Australian football. He will oversee the Swans’ Colts program, guiding the next generation of players within the Club’s strong talent pathway.

His coaching background includes roles at South Fremantle Football Club, Peel Thunder Football Club and the WA Under 16s State Academy. Beyond coaching, he previously served as Talent Manager at East Perth Football Club, where he helped develop several current AFL-listed players including Jye Amiss, Reuben Ginbey, Jedd Busslinger, James Tunstill and Jordyn Baker.

Currently, Scott also leads the AFL Academy at Court Grammar School, managing a highly regarded program that supports the growth of young footballers both on and off the field.

“My main motivation is to develop young players on and off the field and to help players progress between the talent pathway and senior football, while continuing to develop as a coach within a high-performance environment,” Faulkner said.

Scott’s broad experience across Western Australia’s football landscape positions him perfectly to lead Swan Districts’ Colts program. His proven ability to nurture young talent, combined with his leadership style and alignment with the Club’s values, has created genuine excitement for the future success of both the Colts program and the wider football department.

In addition, the Club is pleased to confirm that John Armstrong, who has previously served as Colts Head Coach, will transition into the role of Reserves Coach from the 2026 season. John’s leadership, experience and long-standing commitment to player development make him an ideal fit for this position.

Swan Districts congratulates both Scott and John on their appointments and looks forward to the continued growth and success of its football programs under their leadership.
