New Goal Nets
Swan Districts Football Club with support from the club’s Swansmen have installed new nets behind both goals helping keep footballs in the playing arena on training nights and match days.
The nets will prevent players from having to jump the fence in training sessions to retrieve footballs.
It’s another facility upgrade the result of fundraising by the Swansmen. Last season the coterie group raised $116,000 for the club to use towards facility operational and capital expenditure.
This takes the Swansmen’s total fundraising efforts for the club over the past 40 years to over $2.7 million.
Other facility upgrades this season include 18 new bench seats in the club’s legendary Swan Bar and a white picket fence surrounding it. There are also 110 new seats in the Sponsors Lounge.
The club is also committed to replacing the ceiling in the President’s Lounge where most club events are held.
The Swansmen are an incorporated coterie group of the Swan Districts Football Club whose members share a strong common interest in the Club’s on field and off field success.
Originally formed forty years ago, it’s evolved to less of a business and more of a social orientation. The membership is diverse and ranges from retirees from all walks of life including tradesmen, small business owners, company directors and even young executives in early stages of their career.
Swansmen Membership costs only $35 which entitles members to attend a monthly dinner at the club with guest speakers.
