Steel Blue Oval Redevelopment Update

We are pleased to provide an update on Stage 2 of Steel Blue Oval Redevelopment, an important project that will modernise our facilities and strengthen the long-term future of the Swan Districts Football Club.

The Town of Bassendean has formally released RFQ for project management services to lead Stage 2 through Design Development and the Business Case phase. This next stage will refine the preferred concept design, assess reuse of existing buildings, confirm accommodation requirements (if any), develop costed options and ensure the project aligns with community and stakeholder needs.

The focus of Stage 2 is to create contemporary facilities that support our men’s, women’s, youth, community and high-performance programs, while preserving the heritage and character of Steel Blue Oval. The business case will determine the funding strategy required for delivery, ensuring we are positioned for future state and federal government investment.

We will continue working closely with the Town of Bassendean to progress this important project and will keep members informed as milestones are achieved.
