Round 3 Women’s Preview v East Fremantle

Swan Districts will look to continue the blistering start to their WAFL Women’s season in 2026 when taking on East Fremantle on Friday night with Chloe Reilly coming up against her former team for the first time.

It’s a Friday night out at East Fremantle’s The Good Grocer Park for Swan Districts against East Fremantle in Round 3 of both the WAFL Women’s and the Rogers Cup competitions.

The Rogers Cup match up will get the action underway from 4:50pm and then the WAFL Women’s contest will follow from 6:55pm before both teams will then get to enjoy the rest of the weekend off.

Coming off last season’s heartbreaking one-point grand final defeat, Swan Districts have made a blistering start to the new WAFL Women’s season.

That started with the 41-point victory in the grand final rematch in Round 1 against Claremont before backing that up with the 48-point Good Friday victory against South Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval.

The Swans will now put that perfect record on the line on Friday night at The Good Grocer Park when they take on East Fremantle on their home turf.

The Sharks began the 2026 WAFL Women’s season with a 49-point derby loss to South Fremantle before hitting back on Good Friday with a 40-point victory against Peel Thunder in Mandurah.

The game will also offer the first chance for Swan Districts recruit Chloe Reilly to play her first match against her former team.

Having been such a key part of the success at East Fremantle in recent years, Reilly has joined Swan Districts in 2026. She had 10 possessions and four inside-50 entries last week against South Fremantle on the back of 13 disposals and a goal against Claremont in Round 1.

There is just the one change to the Swan Districts team to take on East Fremantle from the side that beat South Fremantle on Good Friday with Makaela Grau graduating from the Rogers Cup team to come into the side.

Going out for the black-and-whites is co-captain Eliza Gelmi.

East Fremantle have made three changes to their team from the one that beat Peel Thunder on Good Friday with Clotilde Decaux, Tessa Lynch and Jada Tames into the side to face Swan Districts.

Going out for the Sharks are Avuya Nomlatyu, Olivia McCay and Abbey Partridge.

The Rogers Cup match up between Swan Districts and East Fremantle will get things underway on Friday afternoon at The Good Grocer Park starting at 4:50pm.

Swans have started the Rogers Cup season with a 20-point win against Claremont and then a 38-point victory against South Fremantle as they now look to improve to 3-0 to start the new campaign.

They are coming up against an East Fremantle team who beat South Fremantle first up before also winning by 26 points against Peel Thunder on Good Friday.

So both teams put their unbeaten records in the Rogers Cup on the line on Friday afternoon with Shanae Morisey, Karri Parnham, Lara Sherborne and Grace Vale into the team for Swan Districts.

Sienna Gerardi, Jaya Abbott, Makaela Grau and Adi Griffith go out of the Swans’ Rogers Cup team.

East Fremantle has made four changes as well with Tayah Briggs, Avuya Nomlatyu, Indi Richardson and Macie Thompson into their Rogers Cup team.

Going out for the Sharks are Jada Tames, Poppy Sowden, Chelsea McDonnell and Jemima Stagg.
