Swans Sign Zane Trew

Swan Districts is delighted to announce strong and crafty midfielder Zane Trew has agreed to return to the club on a two year contract.
 
The 22 year old was drafted by West Coast Eagles in 2021 and debuted in his second season playing a total 13 AFL games across 4 seasons. 
 
During his 4 seasons at West Coast he played 44 games in the WAFL proving to be a consistent ball winner with an average 21 disposals.
 
Swans League coach Andrew Pruyn is incredibly excited to welcome Zane back to the club. 
 
“At just 22 years old, Zane’s roots run deep with Swan Districts, having come through our development programs before he made a name for himself in the AFL.
 
“His return is not only a homecoming but also a significant boost for our club. Zane's recent performances at the AFL level have been impressive, demonstrating his ability to compete against the best.
 
“He’s shown remarkable skill and poise on the field, averaging over 27 disposals this season with West Coast’s WAFL side, which speaks volumes about his potential and readiness to make an impact.

Trew was a Swans zoned Hills Rangers Junior Football Club graduate showing his potential from an early age. He represented WA in the 2018 Under 16 national championships, and was named in the midfield in the 2018 Under 16 All Australian Team, averaging 18.7 disposals. He was also selected to play for the Australian Under 17 team against the New Zealand.
