Swans new partnership with Iron Mine Contracting
Swan Districts have announced a new 3 year major partnership with Bayswater based Iron Mine Contracting (IMC).
IMC will partner the club’s expanding community outreach programs assisting the club to increase its social impact in metropolitan and regional communities.
IMC’s vision is to be the leading diversified contractor providing civil, mining, crushing and Indigenous partnering opportunities to the West Australian market.
IMC’s business model aligns closely with Swans. Both strongly believe that business relevance and sustainability is built from uplifting and empowering individuals in the communities in which they operate.
IMC Chief Executive Clinton Keenan is proud to be associated with Swans. “We are excited to see the partnership develop, especially the opportunities to work together to achieve our social engagement goals.”
The new partnership will assist the club launch the Swans Café – a new social enterprise providing employment training for at risk young people in a culturally safe environment.
The Swans Café will provide barista and customer service training for schools to offer their students as an extension of the Swans Elevate program already being delivered in metropolitan and regional secondary schools.
Those students who become barista certified will be invited to work in the Swans Café on weekends and at Swans home games at Steel Blue Oval Bassendean.
The project will create sustainable and ongoing employment in hospitality for at risk young people improving mental health and reducing risk of contact with the justice system. It will also create a new financial and sustainable social enterprise for the club.
Swans Chief Executive Jeff Dennis is delighted with the new partnership.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have a company like Iron Mine Contracting see the tangible benefit of supporting the club’s social impact programs. Like us, IMC is committed to enabling people who live in the communities they serve.”
“It’s another example of how a partnership between sport and business can help create a world where everyone belongs.”
IMC and Swans will continue working together creating additional new community engaged programs.
