Andy Holmes to Continue as Swans Board Director
Andy Holmes has been declared the successful candidate of the 2022 Swan Districts Football Club’s Board election with a decisive win.
The ballot closed 5pm last Friday. A total 472 voting envelopes were returned representing 38% of the eligible club membership, including 3 ballots declared invalid as per the club’s constitution and 1 informal ballot.
The result of the election was Andy Holmes (326 ballots), Roanna Edwards (63), John Komorowski (51), and Joanne Taylor (28).
Holmes expressed appreciation for the support he received and looked forward to serving the club for a further 3 years.
“Thanks to the members who elected me to the board for another 3 years. It’s an exciting time for the club with the appointment of Andrew Pruyn as League coach. I look forward to working with Andrew and the board over the next couple of years to ensure our continued success of our great club both on and off the field.”
The club benefited from a strong field of candidates with all having skills and expertise that could have assisted the club achieve its vision as set out in its strategic plan.
In accordance with the constitution, the Board now have the opportunity to second up to two appointed Directors to complete the maximum 7 person Board. The positions are selected to meet specific recognised skillsets to match the club’s strategic direction.
The club acknowledges the support of Bob Hutchinson, the Honorary Returning Officer, and election scrutineers Maurice Embley, John Rowe and Norm Kirkup who collectively provided a professional election process.
