Round 4 WAFL Match Preview
Round 4 will be a tough but exciting weekend of football, with all men’s sides facing a Claremont team that currently sits above them on the 2022 WAFL ladder.
Having been unable to defeat the Tigers since 2017, Adam Pickering’s top side will be looking to knock off the undefeated Claremont side on their way to ensuring they don’t lose the last 10 games straight against their opponents.
Aidan Clarke and Jarvis Pina are important inclusions for the Swans, with Ben Hewett and Jak Watson making way for the experienced pair.
Be there covered in the black and white as the black ducks look to cause an early upset in the 2022 season.
Last time we met:
- Round 22, 2021 at Revo Fitness Stadium,
- Claremont won by 22 points - 11.11 (77) to 8.7 (55),
- Jess Turner had 29 disposals, 6 tackles and 5 inside 50s, and
- Key defender, Chris Jones, kicked 3 goals.
Fun facts:
- The Swans and Tigers have met just 13 times for a Round 4 clash, with Claremont leading the win/loss ratio 8 to 5,
- Adam Pickering is yet to beat Claremont as the Swans League coach,
- The Swans are yet to lose a Grand Final against Claremont, having had 4 encounters,
- They have played country games against each other in Newman, Broome, Mount Barker and Port Hedland,
- The teams have only drawn twice against each other throughout their history in the WAFL, and
- It was Matt Riggio’s 217th and final WAFL home and away game in the black and white.
