Swans Volunteer of the Month - September

Friday, October 1, 2021 - 10:47 AM

The Swans Volunteer of the Month Award for September was recently presented to Peter Bacon for his role helping many Swansmen fundraising and networking activities in support of Swan Districts Football Club.

Swansmen is an incorporated coterie group whose members all share a strong common interest in the Club’s on field and off field success. Originally formed as the Swan’s Businessmen’s Association, in 1983 the group evolved to less of a business and more of a social orientation and became the Swansmen. Its membership is diverse and ranges from retirees from all walks of life, to tradesmen, small business owners, company directors and even young executives in early stages of a career.

Peter has been supporting the Swansmen for the past 37 years. He’s volunteered his time in many different ways helping on the Swansmen Committee and as an Auction Supporter, General Worker and Bar Manager. Peter proudly received Swansmen Life Membership in 2020.

The Swansmen and Swan Districts Football Club thank Peter for his efforts and named him as Volunteer of the month for September.

“Peter’s a fine example of the many dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Swans such a great club”, said Swans Volunteer Coordinator Nathan Clark.

Nathan’s role is to help recruit and induct new volunteers, organise social events and provide support to volunteers wherever needed. He can be contacted at volunteer@swandistrictsfc.com
