Two more added as Swans WAFLW coaching team grows
New Swan Districts WAFLW head Coach, Adam Dancey, has wasted no time in starting to build a strong, professional team around him for the 2021 women’s season.
Less than a week after being announced to the position at the 2020 McSherry Medal, he added Oliver Beath as Head of Development and Travis Jones as a Development Coach. He is also calling on applications for assistant and line-based coaching roles.
Oliver joins the team with over 15 years of experience in developing young female footballers. Having coached both male and female teams in both development and high performance programs, he is also heavily involved with the WA State sides and Female Academy. He was also the Head Coach of the 2013 WA State 15s Female AFL Team who became the first team to defeat Victoria and win a National Championship at any level.
Travis also joins the Swans with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has spent over 15 years in a coaching or high performance capacity with an array of clubs, academy’s and state teams. His focus for the upcoming season is to see the ladies turn their weaknesses into strengths both on and off the field, by offering a more personalised training and game day experience. Having turned down a number of other offers throughout the WAFL competition, Travis is also looking to also grow as a coach in his time at the black and whites.
Line and other coaches will be announced in the coming weeks so stay tuned to our website and social media pages for updates.
