New Swans WAFLW Coach Appointed
Swan Districts Football Club has contracted experienced Swans coach Leith Woods to be the club’s WAFL Women’s League Coach for 2020.
Leith has a long and extensive history playing and coaching in the club’s very successful women’s football program. She was an Assistant League Coach in last year’s inaugural WAFL women’s season and played six seasons between 2013 and 2018 including the 2013 Premiership. She also coached the club’s Rogers Cup team for four seasons between 2015 and 2018 which included a Premiership in 2017.
Her coaching experience extends to assistant coaching the State 16’s and 18’s and coaching the State Academy. She also has a Level 2 Accreditation.
“We’re delighted to elevate Leith to League Coach. We get the best of both worlds in that we get a coach that understands our club’s women’s football history, values and philosophy and is also a successful coach in her own right. Leith also understands our current group of players helping us transition for the 2020 season”, says club President Peter Hodyl.
