Swans Sign Talented Trio
Swan Districts Football Club has signed a talented trio from the Northern Blues; Sam Fisher, Frank Anderson and Deven Costigan. The three boys will add a wealth of experience to the playing stock and provide leadership to the list of emerging young talent.
“Sam, Frank and Deven are high quality people that will compliment and enhance our brand. They possess the character and values that we are looking for in the people we bring into our footy club for the present and the future”, League coach Adam Pickering said.
Fisher was selected as a rookie to the Sydney Swans in 2016 where he played until he went to the Northern Blues in 2018. He went on to win the runner up Best and Fairest in 2018 & 19 as well as Vice Captaining the side and was selected in the VFL Team of the Year in 2019.
Anderson was the Captain of the Vic Metro team in 2018 as well as best on ground in Vic Metro vs Vic Country. In 2018, he was invited to the State Draft Combine and by 2019 he had played 12 games for the Northern Blues and came third in the Best and Fairest.
Costigan spent two years at Gippsland before being asked to join the Northern Blues where he spent two years before heading off to play country footy.
“We are very happy to add three quality players to our playing list”, Pickering said. “Not only are they three quality footballers, but quality individuals too, who fit right into the direction of SDFC moving forward.”
