Swans Kicking Goals with Mazenod College
Swan Districts Football Club continues to connect and provide assistance to schools and junior football clubs in the Swans community. This morning the club’s Talent Manager Greg Harding took a training session with the Mazenod senior football team.
Tim Grabski, Mazenod’s Head of the Health and Physical Education Department is delighted with the school’s connection with the club.
“Mazenod College and the Swan Districts Football Club have had a strong connection for decades. Events like this help to further develop and strengthen this relationship. It was a privilege for the students to have this opportunity, with Greg sharing his football wisdom and experience with our boys, running a fantastic session”, he said.
One of the club’s values is ‘raising the bar’ to be the best you can be. This applies to whatever you choose to do at whatever level may be.
Talent identification is not the primary driver for the club’s football outreach strategy. It’s to help kids in the club’s community adhere to this important value.
“Our talent staff had a great day at Mazenod College on Friday morning where we put forty young men through a 90 minute session. Whilst some players are in our system, the high number of boarders means we were able to work with a group of talented boys from all over the state. We look forward to working with the Mazenod staff, parents and players to add resources and knowledge to an already outstanding program’, said Greg Harding.
The Swan Districts staff will continue to work closely with Mazenod College school program and also the Mazenod Junior Football Club during the season.
