Swans New Signing
Swan Districts Football Club has signed Josh Simpson in its preparation for the 2019 WAFL season.
Josh Simpson represented the state in the 2012 Under 18 National Championships and later that year was a first round national draft pick recruited by Fremantle with pick 17. He played two AFL games before being delisted at the end of 2014.
The 24 year old last played in the WAFL in 2016 for East Fremantle. Josh’s hometown is Yalgoo in the Murchison region and he’s been playing in the Great Northern Football League for the past two years winning back-to-back flags for Mullewa and Brigades respectively. He’s also gained experience coaching at Mullewa.
“Josh is an elite talent with lightning speed. I see him playing a half forward wing role this season and I’m delighted to have him at the club”, said League coach Adam Pickering.
