Co-Captaincy Announcement

Congratulations to David Ellard and Tony Notte on the co-captaincy in 2018.

We spoke with both captains at training;

Tony, what are your thoughts on becoming co-captain?
Obviously, it’s a very big honour and something I am very proud of.  I’ve been a part of the leadership group now for numerous years and with Amesy stepping down to be able to be co-captain with Davey is pretty exciting.

We have a relatively new player list and a lot more challenges and this is something the group is really looking forward to.

So, the team is ready for the season?
A lot of hard work has been put in so far and with the pre season only a few more weeks then we start kicking into the intra club games and then pre season games.  Then it’s not long before round one.

David, are you happy to be leading the team again in 2018? 
Yes, very happy to be leading the group again this year, it’s an exciting time for the club with the new changes that have occurred over the preseason.
 
There’s a new coach and some new players, what’s the feeling in the group?
Yeah, the fresh faces and Adam have really rejuvenated the group. Training has been of a high standard and a lot of the more experienced guys have taken a real step in their leadership.  The younger guys are also continuing to improve which is great to see. 

What are your expectations of 2018? 
As a group we expect to build on last year.  We had a great taste of what finals are about and we hope to push deeper into the back end of the year this season.
