V Swans Ashburton Holiday Program

On the 24th and 25th of January, as part of the V Swans School Holiday Program, V Swans Onslow ran a 2 day art workshop focusing on stencilling and spray painting.

Day one of the workshops saw all the kids working on their skateboard designs creating different stencils that would then be painted on to their very own skateboards. Day two saw the kids out the back of the V Swans Youth and community centre spray painting their skateboards with the designs they had created. The kids came up with some amazing designs and really gave their best efforts to create a masterpiece. All the kids had so much fun and were extremely proud of the art pieces they had created over the 2 days.

A special thanks to James Mocin who came up from Perth to teach the kids about the safe use of spray cans and “Graffiti as Artwork VS Vandalism”. It was great to see the kids listening to James and taking in the wealth of information he shared with us. Thanks also to James for creating a “ONSLOW” mural to hang on the front of the Youth Centre.
