Round 1 Pruey’s Match Review
The season opener for Swan Districts didn’t go as planned, with a tough loss to West Perth. Despite some solid individual performances, Round 1 highlighted competitiveness of the 2025 Sullivan Logistics WAFL season.
“Really disappointing way to start the season for our boys.” Andrew Pruyn
“We ran into a red hot West Perth who gave us a real reality check. In this competition you only need to be a little bit off your best and you will be exposed, which is what happened to us.
“I thought we had some good contributors on the day with veteran Tony Notte being as reliable as ever, Ben Hewett, Evan Smith, Leigh Kohlmann and Jesse Turner all playing their role but we had far too many others below their best.
As we shift focus to East Perth in the coming week, there’s a clear sense of determination to bounce back and show what Swan Districts are truly capable of.
“We quickly move onto East Perth this week, last year’s grand finalist will be no easy beat as they have recruited strongly in the off season and boast a formidable front half. I am confident our boys will respond from last weeks performance and put in a good showing.
Round 2 is held at Sullivan Logistics Stadium this Saturday, 12th of April, bouncedown at 2:30pm.
