Princess Steph’s 50th game
Stephanie Pearson, affectionately known as Princess Steph, is set to play her 50th game with the All Abilities team this weekend, as the Swans host Willetton FC here at home.
Steph has let the team know she will be missing this weeks match against Coolbinia due to illness, and is now set to play her 50th game in the last round of the 2025 season.
Princess Steph follows Will Brenssell, Jackson Foskett and Ben Klaassen, who all celebrated their 50th game milestone in Round 11.
“I love playing but didn’t at first. Too hard to catch ball. But now I can tap it and throw and kick. 50 games is so many.” says Steph.
“I love playing with my friends and talking to the people I do know and new friends I know. Training on Thursday night is good because we have dinner too. I like my carers boyfriend Kaidon at training. Because he’s funny and I like him.
Princess Steph as has shown great determination and courage throughout her time at Swans. She has always been a friendly face among teammates always stopping to chat with every single person, including players from the opposition.
“My team are good and I love them so much. We win sometimes and sometimes we be lost. Dylan cracks me up all the time because he’s funny like his dad. I tell my team mates you are loud brave and true and to don’t give up
It’s quite fitting for us to celebrate her 50th game during her final season with us, as Steph and her family embark on a new adventure in Tasmania.
“It is with great pride that I have watched Steph go from fumbling the ball and not knowing where to stand or how to kick to now being able to confidently call for the ball and this year in particular, learning to defend” says Christine, Steph’s mum.
“When placed in the middle of the field, Steph understands now that requires more input and this year she has proven herself by running more.
“We are so fortunate to have found such a caring and encouraging club in Swan Districts and hope the future of the All Abilities team continues
She will be missed by players, staff and volunteers alike and the next player to wear her number will have some pretty big shoes to fill.
Congratulations on 50 games Princess Steph!
