Josh Roberts Inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame

Josh Roberts will join Mike Richardson and Cyril Litterick in being inducted into the Swan Districts Football Club’s Hall of Fame in 2025.

The Swans Hall of Fame selection criteria requires at least one player who has retired within 15 years of each Hall of Fame induction to be nominated. Shane Beros, Travis Edmonds, Joel Cornelius and Tallan Ames have previously been inducted in this category.

Roberts fits into this category at the 2025 Induction Ceremony.

Roberts played 12 consecutive seasons with Swans between 2002 and 2012 amassing 175 games and kicking 80 goals. He was captain between 2010 and 2012 which included the club’s 2010 Premiership, making him one of only five Premiership captains in the club’s history.

He won the Swan Medal in 2008 and 2009, represented the State 3 times, in 2007, 2011 and 2012, and was awarded club Life Membership in 2011.

Roberts was known as a tough, hard and skillful half forward/centreman who set a great and courageous example on the field. He often played with injury but made light of it. Since retiring Josh has been an occasional specialist coach with the men’s League team.

The remaining three Hall of Fame 2025 inductees will be announced over the next couple of months.

These inductees will be officially recognised at the Swan Districts Hall of Fame Induction evening to be held at the club on Saturday 26th July 2025. It’s a wonderful opportunity for supporters to meet Swans royalty in person.

Tickets cost $120 and includes dinner and complimentary refreshments on arrival. Tickets can be purchased here
