Board appoints Jarrad Wright as CEO
The Swan Districts Football Club Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Jarrad Wright as our new Chief Executive Officer. It follows a strong national recruitment process and interest in the position. Jarrad will officially commence on the 18th August.
Jarrad will replace outgoing CEO Jeff Dennis who announced his intention to retire last month after almost nine years in the position, leading the Club in a significant period of financial security and growth and re-purposing our football and community outreach programs.
Jarrad comes to Swans from Victoria, where he worked for Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club for 11 years (2013-2024) with his last 7 years as the Chief Operating Officer. The RSYLTC is 140 years old and has over 4,500 members boasting world-class facilities including lawn, Har Tru and clay courts, coaching, squash, swimming, fitness studio, a gymnasium and free weights room, accommodation, and significant hospitality amenities (turning over $11M annually).
A former secondary school health and physical education leading teacher, Jarrad played for the Eastern Ranges and was part of Vic Metro’s & Box Hill Hawks squads. He also played senior football for Balwyn Tigers, a powerhouse in Melbourne’s Eastern Football League where he won three senior premierships
For the past 12 months he has been engaged in specific development projects/sporting ventures providing strategic advice on commercial growth, investment structuring, financial projections, feasibility, due diligence, and revenue maximisation. He is also leading business development in AI and automation implementation as a business consultant.
Jarrad has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Sports Coaching and Management) Deakin University, a Diploma of Secondary Education (Health and Physical Education)- RMIT University and has completed a finance course from the University of Melbourne.
Jarrad is a results-driven sports and business executive with extensive experience in commercial operations, strategic growth, and stakeholder management. He has a proven track record in managing multi million-dollar budgets, securing high-value sponsorships and leading large scale sporting operations and teams with sustainable business models.
Jarrad is passionate about growing sports organisations through innovation, operational efficiency, and community engagement.
