Swans and Dancey Part Ways
Swan Districts Football Club and WAFLW Head Coach Adam Dancey have agreed to part ways.
Dancey has decided that it’s time for him to take a step back after putting his heart and soul into the job over the past three years.
In 2021 he guided a young League side, with a remarkable 13 League debutants, to play in the WAFLW Grand Final finishing the home and away season on top of the ladder after losing only one game. He was awarded WAFLW Coach of the Year in his first season as Head Coach.
In 2022 Dancey led both the League and Reserves to finish the season with narrow losses in the Preliminary Finals and followed it up again with another finals appearance and debuting another 16 players this year. Dancey has been instrumental in helping multiple players reach their personal goals of being drafted or offered train-on positions with AFLW clubs.
“We wish Adam the very best in whatever he chooses to do in the future and trust he has fond memories of his time at our club”, says Swans President Peter Hodyl.
The club will commence the search for a new coach immediately.
