Swans partners with Westrac to deliver new joint venture with Swan View Senior High School
Westrac, Swan View Senior High School and Swans have this week entered into a new partnership to build future career pathways for students at Swan View Senior High School.
Swans currently deliver the Swans Elevate Program at Swan View Senior High School every week focusing on building resilience and self-awareness, comprising topics including leadership, culture, healthy lifestyles, employment and failure with an energy and feeling different to being in the classroom.
Swans Head of Social Impact, Matt Hewitson, said that “the new partnership with Westrac is an important milestone for Swans as it epitomises the successful move away from delivering only sport focused programs in schools over the last 18 months. Swans Elevate has delivered some really positive impact at Swan View Senior High School in the last 12 months and Westrac’s involvement is going to help us extend this benefit to more students within the school.”
Westrac’s Trade Development Manager, Rob Brack said that “We need to be immersing young people into future focused industries, opening their minds to the breadth of jobs available, skills and knowledge required and support them with meaningful early career pathways during their foundational years. Partnering with Swan View High School and Swans will give such opportunities to students of SVHS and enable positive, sustainable change within the communities in which WesTrac operates”
Hewitson said “It has been fantastic to work so closely with Rob Brack and Donna Weston from Westrac to create this opportunity for the students at Swan View Senior High School, with Dr Sekulla, because they inherently understand that their involvement will not only have a profound impact on the students, but also their families and broader communities.”
The Swans Elevate program now operates from 5 high schools in Perth’s eastern suburbs as well as Roebourne District High School. For more information on how you can incorporate Swans Elevate into your school, contact Swans Social Impact Manager, Jason Burton on jburton@swandistrictsfc.com
