Geelong VFL Co-Captain, Jackson McLachlan is making the move to Swans after playing 56 games in the VFL. A terrific 2022 season saw McLachlan winning the Geelong VFL runner up best and fairest. McLachlan is excited for a new opportunity with the move to Swans. A short visit during the 2022 season helped lock in the decision for McLachlan to sign for the 2023 and 2024 season.

“I decided to commit to Swans as they have a great culture on and off the field. When I went to visit the club, I could tell there was great support and passion that has continued to develop over the years. The culture is something I would like to be a part of,” McLachlan said.

“I’m feeling very nervous but excited to move to Perth. I have never really moved out of Geelong, so I am really excited with this new chapter and challenge.

There’s big changes at Swans with the appointment of the new Head Coach, Andrew Pruyn. With the potential for finals right around the corner, McLachlan is coming to Swans with high hopes for a bright future ahead.

“The ultimate goal would be to go all the way with Swans and win the Grand Final. They look to be in a very exciting window with finals success around the corner and I believe that this is a realistic goal the group has,” Added McLachlan.

“I’m very excited to play under Andrew and continue to grow and develop as a player and personally. I have heard great things about him, and I am keen to get stuck into training and playing for him.

Andrew Pruyn is delighted at the club’s new acquisition. “We are fortunate to have a player of Jackson’s experience and ability coming to the club. A highly skilled and consistent contributor at VFL level his speed and football smarts will be well suited to our needs,”

“Jackson is a level-headed young man who has already impressed coaches and teammates.”
