WAFL Women Season Launch and Player Auction

WAFL WOMEN SEASON LAUNCH AND PLAYER AUCTION – THURSDAY 13 MARCH
The 2025 WAFL Women Season Launch will be held at Steel Blue Oval (President’s Suite) on Thursday 13 March and all are welcome to attend.
Members, supporters, families, partners and friends are all encouraged to join us on the night as we celebrate the start of the Women’s Football season, hear from the Coach and Captains, as well as announce and present the Women’s Seniors and Rogers Cup squads with their jumpers.
The night also features the highly anticipated annual WAFL Women Player Auction, as well as the Members Draw, Chase the Ace and the raffle prize wheel.
WAFL WOMEN PLAYER AUCTION
The Swan Districts Women’s Player Auction is a fun way for members and supporters to get an even closer involvement with the club in 2025. By purchasing a player group, you are in the running to receive a large cash dividend each week. The dividend remitted will depend on the level of monies raised in the auction.
So take up the challenge, have some fun, and become the proud owner of a group of Swans players in 2025. It is the ultimate test of your ability to ‘spot’ some talent!
Player Auction Rules
This year there will be one Best on Ground selected in each of the Swans Women Rogers Cup and League teams every game. The best-case scenario would be if you have both Rogers Cup and League Best On Ground players in your group.
Prize Money
The formula for calculating the prize money is as follows – 60% of money raised at the auction will be paid back to purchasers as a cash dividend. 40% of the money will be allocated to the League prize pool, and 20% to the Rogers Cup pool. The remaining 40% will go to the club to support its annual fundraising target.
Player Auction Groups
The preliminary player auction groups are available to view on the club website HERE. Auction groups will be finalised and announced at the WAFL Women Season Launch on Thursday 13 March.
Points to Remember
- The Player Group you purchase is yours for the 2025 Swan Districts Women's home and away season.
- In the instance of a player/s who are not allocated to a group but join the club during the season, the dividend amount will be allocated pro-rata amongst all player groups should the player be deemed Best on Ground.
- There are two different cash dividends each round (1x League and 1x Rogers Cup). All dividends will be distributed at the end of the season.
- The weekly Best on Ground in the League and Rogers Cup team will be the player selected by the Head Coach for their respective team.
- Payment by the successful bidder is required on the night of the auction.
The WAFL Women Season Launch starts at 6:30pm. Food and drinks will be available to purchase on the night.
