Liberals Commit $500k to Swans Facility Upgrade
The Federal Liberal Party has committed $500,000 to Swans Districts to improve the football facilities at Steel Blue Oval if it wins the next election.
This includes $150,000 to expand the Swan Districts women’s football changerooms and $350,000 to upgrade the oval lighting further.
Swans President Peter Hodyl thanks the Liberal candidate for Hasluck David Goode and Liberal Senator for Western Australia The Hon Linda Reynolds for their support.
“There’s no question our WAFL Women’s program has outgrown its current changeroom,” said Hodyl.
“This new funding will not only help us expand the changeroom by an over 30% but also significantly improve its functionality.
“And the $350,000 commitment for our lighting will ensure we can upgrade our new oval lighting from 200 Lux to 500 Lux enabling us to play night games.
“This will provide us the opportunity to play WAFL Women’s games on our traditional WAFL match days helping introduce a new audience to women’s football.
“It also would finally give all of our teams and players the opportunity to train under the quality of lighting other WAFL clubs have had for some time now.
“This support would be a huge benefit for our club.”
