Looking for Match Day Information Volunteers
An important part of our club’s Strategic Plan 2018-2022 is to create new audiences. One way of achieving this is to improve and contemporise our home game activation strategy. You can see this coming to life last season with the Swans Play Zone, various on-field competitions and our targeted theme days like Count Me In, 6054 Day, NAIDOC and Father and Son Day.
In 2019, we’ll continue to build on our home game presentation by:
- Improving the quality of the sound system to provide a more engaging home game activation.
- Improving the games on offer in the Swans Play Zone
- Providing more on-field competitions like a dance competition in the Dance Zone at quarter time and Chase the Swan at three quarter time
- Improving our partnership with the junior football clubs in the Swans Community
- Continue building a partnership with the WAAFL and Integrated Football
- The commencement of the new WAFLW competition
As we attract an increasing number of new supporters to our home games, it’s important we make their experience as easy and attractive as possible. A few strategies we’ll undertake this season to achieve this will be to provide:
- Eftpos machines at both entry gates
- A marquee area in front of the clubrooms for use by people with disability and their carers and families
- An accessible toilet on all match days near the main entry gate (only to be used by people with a disability)
- A Parking/Public Transport Information Sheet, and
- A Match Day Information Volunteer.
We’re looking for any interested people in being a Swans Match Day Information Volunteer. The role would be similar to those wonderful volunteer guides at the airport. He/she will be visible on the day with a fluorescent vest and be available to answer any questions our new supporters may have, like the location of the toilets, canteens or merchandise shop etc. You will be free to wander the ground during the day as long as you’re visible to supporters and available to answer questions.
If you’re interested in being a Match Day Information Volunteer, please contact the club on reception@swandistrictsfc.com
