New Draft SDFC Inc Constitution For Members’ Comment

Swan Districts Football Club Inc is required to update its Constitution.

The deadline for incorporated associations and clubs to update the rules to meet the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 requirements is 30 June 2019. Accordingly, the Board with input from the Governance and Culture Committee has been involved in a lengthy process over the past few months drafting a new constitution in line with provisions under the new Act and our license agreement with the WAFC.

Consultation has been conducted with other clubs, experts in drafting new constitutions, the WAFC, members of our current Board and with reference to the State Government’s own guidelines.

It is proposed to now disseminate a copy of the latest draft #3.5 to all members via our electronic media so they have time to peruse the current draft before a proposed Club Forum to be held at 5 p.m. on the last Thursday Club night a week after our last finals appearance of any of our teams, probably in early September.

After feedback from members and supporters, the Board will finalise a copy of a new constitution to be presented to members at the club’s next AGM in February 2019 in order that members can vote on whether to adopt the new constitution under a special resolution.
