WAFL Fundraiser For A Worthy Cause
All WAFL supporters are invited to attend East Perth FC’s Mrs Brown’s Boys’ fundraiser to support the ongoing medical costs for East Perth’s Beau Chatley.
The luncheon is on Friday 9th February at Leederville Oval. Beau is now 18 months on from his serious spinal injury which saw him lose his upper and lower motor function. While Beau made some initial gains, including being able to get up and walk again in December 2016, his recovery has stagnated and a final medical assessment indicates he’s has been left with an impairment rating of 46%.
Beau will undergo a bladder operation on the 22nd January 2018 to remove a 2 cm crystalize stone which has formed due to the ongoing catheterization and not emptying his bladder fully. Beau receives daily therapy with several specialists in an effort to improve his impairment which unfortunately means at present he has no ability to perform a job which supports an income. Beau is only 22 years of age and his annual medical costs currently exceed $55,000 which creates enormous anxiety for Beau and his family.
Any support from the WAFL community is welcome
